AL Zwerling started drumming at the age of 6 years
old after receiving the Kiss Alive II and Destroyer albums. “I wanted the
albums because of the tattoos that were in Alive II. After I listened to the album,
I was banging on pots, pans, boxes, and anything else I could get my hands on!”
Years later, AL began learning piano, and then guitar.
Through his high school and college years, AL focused on theatre and acting.
After graduating from Monmouth University, AL was accepted into a professional
theatre apprenticeship and soon performed in a short-run Off Broadway production.
He then acquired a few minor commercial roles
and film extra work, but AL decided to focus on music instead – his first love.
This focus led to songwriting, recording, and live performances in several projects including
original bands Curving Aztec, Touch, and successful cover bands Superfreak and Size Matters.
AL’s vocal and drumming abilities were showcased in each of these bands.
He continues to write, engineer, and produce original music, as well as perform live
in a variety of cover band projects throughout the New Jersey and New York area.
AL’s musical preferences are very broad, ranging from rock to reggae, funk, and dance.
AL can currently been seen handling vocal duties and fronting NJ cover band, ThunderCheese.
AL resides at the central Jersey Shore, where he lives with his dog and kittie .
